Abstract:
To provide a centrifugal separator which can overcome or mitigate disadvantage in the prior art, and determine, with high confidence, parameters related to separation of a liquid feed mixture within the centrifugal separator.SOLUTION: A centrifugal separator (2) is disclosed. The separator comprises a rotor (4), and a control system (30). The control system (30) comprises a first and a second pressure sensor (34 and 36) arranged at first and second radial positions in a separation space (8) of the rotor (4). The first and second pressure sensors (34 and 36) are positioned to be submerged in process liquid during operation of the centrifugal separator (2). A control unit (32) of the control system is configured to determine a parameter of the process liquid within the separation space (8) during operation of the centrifugal separator (2) based on measurements from the first and second pressure sensors (34 and 36).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
