Abstract:
To provide a ceramic heater that can ensure the oxidation resistance of an electrode portion.SOLUTION: A ceramic heater 10 includes a substrate 11 made of an insulating ceramic including silicon nitride as a main component and extending in the axial direction, and a conductor 15 made of a conductive ceramic including silicon nitride and tungsten carbide and embedded inside the substrate. The conductor includes a heat generating portion 16 disposed on the tip end side in the axial direction, a lead portion 17 connected to the heat generating portion and extending in the axial direction, and electrode portions 18 and 19 connected to the lead portion and extending in a direction perpendicular to the axial direction. The ceramic heater includes a protective layer 20 that covers the electrode portion while being in contact with the electrode portion and exposed to the outside of the substrate, and the protective layer includes tungsten silicide.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
