Abstract:
To provide a ceramic honeycomb structure which has a lowered pressure loss and effectively catches the nano-sized PM occupying a large portion of PM particles in an exhaust gas.SOLUTION: An objective ceramic honeycomb structure has a plurality of flow channels formed by a porous barrier 2, has total pore volume of 0.70-0.80 cm3/g in the pore distribution of a barrier 2, and has in particular: 0.68-0.78 cm3/g of the pore volume of 1 μm or more; 0.65-0.75 cm3/g of that of 2 μm or more; 0.58-0.68 cm3/g of that of 5 μm or more; 0.42-0.56 cm3/g of that of 10 μm or more; 0.06-0.19 cm3/g of that of 20 μm or more; 0.03-0.10 cm3/g of that of 30 μm or more; 0.02-0.05 cm3/g of that of 50 μm or more; 0.010-0.035 cm3/g of that of 100 μm or more; and 0.020 cm3/g or less of that of 200 μm or more.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
