Abstract:
PURPOSE: To improve the joining strength of a cone part by bringing the ceramic piece into contact with a matrix, applying an electric current to a pin part to weld the cone part to the matrix, and subsequently cutting off the pin part from a constricted part disposed on the inside from the upper end surface of the ceramic piece.
CONSTITUTION: A small diameter hole 2 communicated with a lower circular depression 3 is formed at the center of a 3-50mm thick ceramic piece 1 comprising Al2O3, etc. A metal stud pin 4 is inserted into the hole 2, and the inserted stud pin is incorporatedly joined to the flange part 9a connected to a metal cone 9. The metal cone 9 is joined to the ceramic piece 1 with a brazing member 10, and further the ceramic piece 1 is brought into contact with a matrix, and an electric current is applied to the stud pin 4 to weld the metal cone 9 to the matrix. Subsequently, the stud pin 4 is cut off from a constricted part 8 disposed on the inside of the upper end surface of the ceramic piece 1. A refractory is then charged into the tip part to prevent the ceramic piece 1 from being peeled from the matrix due to the welding lose or corrosion of the cone part 9.
