PURPOSE: To improve bonding strength and durability by forming glass well parts at the bonding surfaces between ceramic sliders for a magnetic head and a core for the magnetic head, and bonding the core with glass which is filled in the wells as a unitary body.

CONSTITUTION: Glass well parts 45 are formed at the bonding surfaces between first and second ceramic sliders 14 and 16 and a core 12 for a magnetic head. The well parts 45 are filled with glass 42. The sliders 14 and 16 are butted with the core 12 and heated to the temperature which is higher than the softening point of the glass 42. Thus, the glass 42 is softened and fused, and the sliders 14 and 16 are bonded to the core 12 as a unitary body. In this way, the magnetic head characterized by the high bonding strength and the excellent durability can be readily manufactured.
