PURPOSE: To improve heat resistance, chemical resistance, durability or the like as well as reduce the number of part items in the title chain for surely performing power transmission by constituting a ceramics link member and a ceramics connecting member to be alternately connected.

CONSTITUTION: Plural numbers of side plate members 1a are solidly connected at specified intervals, and a recess 1d to fit a tooth 4a of a sprocket 4 is formed in the center, while a ceramics link member 1 with each connecting shaft 1c in from and in the rear of this recess 1d and a ceramics connecting member 2 are alternate connected to each other via the connecting shaft 1c, thereby constituting a ceramics chain 3. Then, the recess 1d of the link member 1 is engaged with the tooth 4a of the sprocket 4, and turning effort of the sprocket 4 is transmitted to this chain 3 via a wall surface forming the recess 1d. Therefore the turning effort of the sprocket 4 is surely transmitted to the chain 3 and, what is more, any possible slip between both of them is in no case produced.
