Abstract:
Production of solid particles (10) from a flowable starting material (SM) (2) comprises splitting SM (2) into droplets (9) and introducing the droplets along a trajectory (50) into a solidification liquid (SL) (11), in which the droplets are solidified into solid particles (10). The SL (11) used is such that when SM (2) contains actinium oxide, SL (11) flows steadily. Independent claims are also included for the following: (A) urea particles having: (a) a sphericity of >= 0.923; (b) grain gross density, especially mean grain gross density of 1.20-1.335 g/cm 3>; and (c) a diameter of 20-6000 mu m with relative standard deviation 10 %; (B) urea particles produced using the above process; (C) use of urea particles as above in a catalyst, or a catalyst system for cars to reduce nitrogen oxides; (D) ceramic material-containing particles obtained using the above process. (E) use of the particles in (D) as milling bodies in mills, especially in high performance mills; (F) apparatus for conducting the above process.
