PURPOSE: To provide a chain wheel for coping with chains of different sizes by making a claw, which is arranged at regular intervals toward the circumference direction with intervals toward the axis direction, adjustable of its position toward the diameter direction, and holding a vertical link of a chain between a pair of claws facing each other in the axis direction.

CONSTITUTION: A longitudinal groove 4 is formed on an arm 3 inward of the diameter direction, supporting seats 5, 6 are provided on the end of the vertical groove and on the base end on the axis center side, respectively, and a bolt 7 is provided vertically in a rotatable manner on the supporting seats 5, 6. A rectangular frame shaped claw mounting plate 8, which is inserted into the longitudinal groove 4, engaged to the groove edge and slides, and fitted loosely to the bolt 7, is provided on each arm 3. The claw mounting plate 8 has a convex shaped claw 11 fixed thereto as well as a nut 9 inserted therein and, as the nut 9 is turned, the claw mounting plate 8 and the claw 11 move up and down along the bolt 7 making the position of the claw 11 adjustable in the diameter direction. The nut 9 on each arm 3 is turned accordingly to the size of the chain link used and the position of each claw 11 is adjusted one by one.
