Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a switching reluctance generator device which can restart the generating action, without the need for a large-sized power source if there is a short circuit fault. CONSTITUTION: A switching reluctance generator device, which includes a converter 27' to connect the DC voltage to a switching reluctance generator through a DC exciting bus 62 (or exciting node) so as to excite the switching reluctance generator, has a separate generator bus 60 for supplying the output voltage Vg of the switching reluctance generator. A generator bus 60 is provided separate from the DC exciting bus 62, so that the average current iav generated by the switching reluctance generator may be substantially irrelevant to the output voltage Vg of the generator. As a result, after an occurrence of overload, overload is supplied to remove the fault (for example, through a fuse), and the switching reluctance generator can restart the generating action, without the need for a relatively large-sized power source for exciting the generator again.
