PURPOSE: To efficiently purify a channel by purifying the polluted sea water flowing in or out from both ends of the channel in response to the ebb and flow with water treatment apparatuses on both sides of the channel, and returning it into the channel to be diffused and mixed with the polluted sea water.
CONSTITUTION: When the tide level of the sea area 3 rises, the polluted sea area water flowing in from both ends of a channel 1 is taken from intake sections 4 and purified by water treatment apparatuses 5. The treated water is discharged from discharge sections 9a near the intake sections 4 and mixed with the sea water in the channel 1, and the mixed water naturally flows into the center congestion section 8 of the channel 1 as the tide level rises. When the tide level is lowered, channel switch sections 7 are switched, the treated water purified by the apparatuses 5 is discharged from discharge sections 9b near the center congestion section 8 to be mixed with the sea water in the channel 1. The purified sea water in the channel 1 is taken in and continuously purified by the apparatuses 5. The sea water can be efficiently purified by the utilization of the inversion of the stream, and the water treatment apparatuses 5 can be miniaturized without hindering the ship navigation in the channel 1.
