Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide the character display device on which display characters can be moved smoothly and vertically within the visible range on the television screen and the microcomputer equipped with it.
CONSTITUTION: A reset pulse (a) for a 2nd counter 21 can be generated between the generation of a vertical synchronizing pulse Vsync and the generation of a horizontal synchronizing pulse Hsync right after it, so the 2nd counter 21 can count invisible horizontal synchronizing pulses Hsync present in the generation period of the vertical synchronizing pulse Vsync. Therefore, when the display characters are moved vertically in the up-down direction on the television screen, the trouble that display characters suddenly appear and disappear at the uppermost part on the television screen can be eliminated.
