To provide a charcoal kiln for producing high-quality charcoal by moderate heating through avoiding the overbaking of a charcoal material by mounting an inner vessel on an oven body, circulating burner flame through a gap between the inner wall of the oven body and the inner vessel and baking the charcoal material in the vessel by the aid of the thermal power of the flame.

This charcoal kiln has the following structure and mechanism: one end of the horizontally cylindrical oven body 1 is made open and mounted with an openable door 3, the other end is closed and connected with a chimney 5 for the oven body, the gap is provided at the inner wall surface of the oven body and the inner vessel 8 is mounted on the inner wall surface, one end of the vessel 8 is made open and the charcoal material is contained in the vessel, and this end is mounted with an engageable lid 10, the other end is closed and connected with a chimney 12 for the inner vessel to discharge smoke out of the oven body, and the flame projection port of the burner B is faced on a firing port 14 opened at the door 3 to carbonize the charcoal material in the vessel, wherein a charcoal material container 15 with the top openable is formed with air-permeable boards and the charcoal material is held in the container which is set inside the vessel 8 in a drawable manner.
