To provide a charge transporting compound capable of composing such an electrophotographic photoreceptor as to simultaneously achieve all of improvement of frictional characteristics, prevention of increase in residual electric potential in case of being repeatedly used, and prevention of adhesion of a contaminant, etc., to the photoreceptor.
This charge transporting compound is expressed by general formula (1): [Z-(R1)p(X)q]r-F-[D-Si(R2)(3-a)Qa]b [R1 is an alkylene; R2 is hydrogen, an alkyl or a substituted or unsubstituted aryl, F is an organic group derived from a compound having positive hole transporting ability; D is a divalent group having flexibility; Q is a hydrolyzable group; Z is hydroxy or carboxy; X is oxygen or sulfur; a is an integer of 1 to 3; p and q are each 0 or 1; and b and r are each an integer of 1-4 and selected so as to satisfy: b+r=2 to 5].
