Abstract:
To provide a charged particle beam irradiation device for scanning charged particle beams and irradiating each spot of an irradiation target.SOLUTION: A charged particle beam irradiation device includes a collimator device provided to an irradiation nozzle for emitting charged particle beams onto an irradiation target, and a collimator control part. The collimator device includes a collimator mechanism 102 having one or more arm-shaped collimators 110 and 120 extending from a base part, and a drive mechanism 101 for moving the collimator mechanism. The arm-shaped collimator includes one or more movable leaves that rotate independently of each other in a perpendicular plane. The collimator control part moves the collimator mechanism so that the arm-shaped collimator moves along the shape of the side edge of the irradiation target and/or rotates the movable leaves in the perpendicular plane so as to block the charged particle beams applied to the outside of the side edge by the arm-shaped collimators.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
