Abstract:

To switch the residual capacity, at which charging of a battery is stopped, according to the use situation of the battery.

According to one embodiment, a charger includes: a charging part; a control part; and switch means. The charging part charges a battery. The control part controls the stoppage of charging of the battery which is conducted by the charging part. The control part stops the charging of the battery when battery capacity reaches a first capacity in a first charging mode and stops the charging of the battery when the battery capacity reaches a second capacity lower than the first capacity in a second charging mode. The switching means performs processes regarding switching between the first charging mode and the second charging mode according to the record of the battery capacity.
