To provide a charging device capable of preventing an accident such as bump or collision of cars and facilitating connection work of a charging cable.
A box 1 is buried in the ground or floor of a charging facility, and a charging arm 2 with a charging outlet 5 on a tip is attached in the inside of the box 1 so as to freely take a stand-alone state with the arm erected and a housing state with the arm in the inside of the box. Preferably, the charging device has a structure in which a roof 6 is provided at a position above the charging outlet 5 when the charging arm is risen. The box 1 is buried in the ground or the floor before use, thereby being not an obstacle to the movement of a vehicle and eliminating the risk of an accident such as bump or collision.
