Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make empty used baskets automatically pile up underneath a checkout counter.
CONSTITUTION: To cut out from a checkout counter (11) an opening (21) large enough for a basket (17) to pass through. To set up a first holding member (22) on the checkout counter (11) close to one side of the opening. Also to set up a supporting member (23) at a point confronting the first holding member (22) with opening between. Further to affix on the supporting member (23) a second holding member (24) making it freely movablee between the first point protruding from surface of the supporting member (23) facing the first holding member (22) to second point further detached from first holding member (22). When the second holding member (24) is at the first point, it holds a basket together with the first holding member (22), but as it is slide moved to the second point, the basket falls through the opening to pile up underneath the checkout counter.
