PURPOSE: To easily execute the movement of a basket even when the basket is fully loaded with commodities by providing and forming successively and continuously the horizontal surface having length of a one-piece portion of the basket and the inclined surface extending form the downstream side end part of the horizontal plane to the downstream side.

CONSTITUTION: A customer places an unregistered commodity contained in his own basket 13 onto a carry-in belt conveyor. In this case, as for the basket 13, its downstream side upper end part 13a and the carrying surface of a carry-in belt conveyor become almost the same height, and also, are inclined to the downstream side, therefore, the commodity can be taken out easily. In such a state, when this unregistered commodity is carried to this side of a bar-code scanner 11, a cashier 16 executes a read work of its bar-code by the scanner 11. When the payment processing is finished, a basket 18 in which the registered commodity is contained is moved to the inclined surface 15b of a basket placing base 15 in order to prepare for the next customer. In this case, force to the downstream side works on the basket 18 by its dead weight, therefore, the subsequent movement is facilitated.
