Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a new chelate-forming compound useful for forming a radioactive metal complex suitable for imaging of mammalian brain and heart including human.
CONSTITUTION: This chelate-forming phenyldiaminodithiol derivative of formula I [R is a hetero atom-containing group such as groups formula II to formula V (n is 0-5; m, k and l are 0-4)] or its salt such as l-(2-(2-methoxyethyl)thio-2- methylpropylamino)-2-(2-mercapto-2-methylpropylamino) benzene. The compound is obtained by condensing 2-amino-1-(2-mercapto-2-methylpropylamino)benzene of formula VI with a compound of formula VII in the presence of sodium cyanoborohydride. A radioactive metal labeled complex of formula VII can be obtained by reacting the compound of formula I with a solution of sodium pertechnetate in the presence of a reducing agent such as stannous chloride.
