To save facility costs and an electrical energy by fractionating a mixed steam being generated from a chemical reaction container by a fractionating device and further driving a cold water producing machine with a thermal energy being generated when the fractionated steam is cooled and condensed and producing cold water.
In a chemical plant with an ester reaction bath 1, an initial polymerization bath 5, and a later polymerization bath 6, the oligomer of polyester is generated due to chemical reaction in the ester reaction bath 1 and is transferred to the initial polymerization bath 5 via a pipe 19. Also, water that is a by-product of reaction and one portion of etyleneglycol that is one of raw materials for reaction are boiled in the reaction bath 1 and are continuously carried to a distillation tower 2 via a pipe 13 as a mixed steam. Then, the water is sent to a cold water manufacturing device in steam state and heat is released here, thus driving a cold water manufacturing device 3. And then, generated cold water is supplied to heat exchangers 11 and 12 that are provided at wet condensers 7 and 8.
