Abstract:
To provide: polyoxymethylene polymer compositions that are resistant to fuels, particularly diesel fuels, and to highly acidic solutions; and molded articles made from the compositions.SOLUTION: The polymer compositions contain a polyoxymethylene polymer in combination with an acid neutralizing agent and a plasticizer. A polymer composition containing an acid neutralizing agent and a plasticizer at a specific weight ratio generally contains a polyoxymethylene polymer in an amount from about 90 wt.% to about 95 wt.%. In addition, the polymer composition contains an acid neutralizing agent and a plasticizer at a weight ratio that has been found to significantly improve the acid resistance of the composition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
