Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain the subject chemiluminescence inhibitor useful for a remedy of ischemic cerebrovascular disease, complication of diabetes mellitus, etc., by blending specified anthraquinones or analogous compounds as the active components.
CONSTITUTION: Compounds of the formula (R1, R2 and R4 are H or OH; R2 is H, methyl, hydroxymethyl or carboxyl; R5 is H or glucopyranosiloxy) contained in Rhei Rhizoma as an crude drug, e.g. emodine, rhein, rhein 8-0-glucoside and 1,5-dihydroxyanthraquinone or sennoside A, sennoside B, sennidin A or gallic acid are blended as the active components. The dose of the above- mentioned compounds is within a range of 50mg-5g per day in case of an oral drug and 0.1mg-1g per day in case of a parenteral drug.
