To perform defrost surely in a cooler for refrigerator by melting dews completely while eliminating useless defrost operation.
A primary refrigerating circuit is provided with two refrigerant heat exchangers 11 through which the primary refrigerating circuit is coupled with secondary refrigerant circuits, i.e., first and second circuits 3A, 3B. Heat transfer tubes 5a, 5b for evaporation of both secondary refrigerant circuits 3A, 3B constitute an integral evaporator 50 and an evaporator temperature sensor Th 22 is provided at the lower end thereof. A liquid temperature sensor Th 21 is provided in front of a distributor 55 in the liquid pipe 61 of the first circuit 3A. The defrost end detecting section 71 of a controller 70 detects the end of defrost when both temperatures detected through the evaporator temperature sensor Th 22 and the liquid temperature sensor Th 21 exceeds reference levels, respectively.
