Abstract:
The invention relates to a chimeric gene which, in the cells of cotton plants, expresses insecticidal compounds which essentially have the insect-toxic properties of the crystalline protein produced by Bacillus thuringiensis. The transformed cells are regenerated to complete plants which are toxic to the larvae of insects from the orders Lepidoptera, Coleoptera and Diptera.
