Abstract:

To provide a TAAR (trace amine associated receptor) of a chimpanzee, forming a subfamily of a G-protein coupled receptor.

The new TAAR polypeptide of the chimpanzee is identified as a member of the subfamily of the G-protein coupled receptor, and a fingerprint sequence specific and selective for the TAAR polypeptide is provided. Furthermore, a nucleic acid encoding the TAAR polypeptide and a vector and a host cell containing the family member are provided. In addition, a method for identifying the TAAR of the chimpanzee is provided.
