Title:
CHIP ATTACHMENT DETECTION METHOD FOR TOOL AND ITS DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH08197382
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To easily judge attachment of chips by rendering and moving a spindle to a coordinate position by each of coordinate values stored in a memory means after using a tool and comparing a light receiving state of a light receiving element at this time and a light receiving state of the light receiving element before using the tool at the same coordinate position with each other.

CONSTITUTION: When cutting machining by using a tool is completed, a sequencer renders and moves a spindle 1 to each of coordinate positions of (Y1, Z1), (Y2, Z2),...(Yn, Zn) sampled before using the tool. Thereafter, a digital signal processor monitors whether an output signal of a light receiving element 19 changes from an off signal to an on signal at each othe coordinate positions or not. Unless the output signal of the light receiving element 19 changes from the off signal to the on signal, it is judged that chips are attached to the tool T, and its signal is output to the sequencer from the digital signal processor.
