PURPOSE: To obtain the chip capacitor, to be used for an electronic apparatus used on a high frequency band, having a small change in dielectric constant against temperature, easily coped with the diversification of required characteristics and also having high productivity and a low electric capacitance and high preciseness.
CONSTITUTION: The title chip capacitor is composed of a metal electrode 2, which is formed by having the surface of a dielectric 1, formed in the prescribed shape such as rod-like, tabular form and the like, covered by metal-plating, an electric capacitance gap 4 formed by notching a part of the metal electrode 2, a protective film 5 provided in the electric capacitance gap 4, and a metal cap 3 fitted over the electrode 2 located at the end section of the dielectric 1.
