PURPOSE: To efficiently and accurately polish the rake surface of a chipping saw by a chipping saw and cutter polishing machine by engaging a belt passing through a hollow oscillating shaft over a motor shaft and a diamond wheel mounting shaft.

CONSTITUTION: A motor 6 is so arranged at one end of a hollow oscillating shaft 5 rotatably supported at a bearing 3 reciprocatingly placed on a base 1 and a diamond wheel 7 mounting shaft 8 is so arranged at the other end thereof as to be perpendicularly to the shaft 5 in opposite direction each other. A belt 13 passed through the shaft 5 is provided over pulleys 10 and 11 mounted at the motor shaft 12 and the mounting shaft 8, respectively. When the wheel 7 is so inclined as to coincide with the lead angle α of the rake surface 20 at the polishing surface 18 to thereby operate the motor 6 and the oscillating mechanism A, the wheel 7 efficiently and accurately polish the rake surface 20 of the chipping saw 19.
