Abstract:

To provide an organometallic catalyst useful for enantioselectively epoxidizing a prochiral olefin.

The chiral catalyst has a structure expressed by formula (1). In the formula (1), M is a transition metal ion selected from the group consisting of Mn, Cr, Fe, Ni, Co, Ti, V, Ru and Os, A is an anion, n is 0, 1 or 2 and X1, X2, X3 or X4 is selected from the group consisting of a silyl, allyl, alkyl, hetero atom and alkyl having hetero atom. Further, Y1, Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5 and Y6 is selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, a halide, alkyl, allyl, alkoxy group, nitro group and alkyl group having hetero atom and at least one of R1, R2, R3 and R4 is selected from the first group consisting of hydrogen, CH3 and primary alkyl.
