PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of waving in the panel of the liquid crystal display device and to maintain prescribed display quality by lancing the connecting terminal parts between respective tape carrier packages.

CONSTITUTION: A polyether sulfone substrate of a panel 1 of the liquid crystal display device is provided with the connecting terminal parts 2 of 4mm width. The respective tape carrier packages 3 are lanced 4 at 0.2mm width and 2.5mm depth therebetween before the tape carrier packages 3 are press-fixed to this connecting terminal parts 2. Anisotropic conductive films are tentatively stuck to the connecting terminal parts 2 and the polyimide tape carrier packages 3 are superposed thereon and are fixed by thermocompression bonding. The liquid crystal display device produced in such a manner hardly affects the display by stresses. The good display quality is thus obtd.
