Abstract:
To obtain a cholesteric liquid crystal composition having high align ment speed, readily soluble in an easily handleable solvent such as methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).
This cholesteric liquid crystal composition is characterized by comprising a compound represented by general formula (1) [Q1 and Q2 are each independently a polymerizable group; L1 and L2 are each independently a bifunctional connecting group; Cy1 and Cy2 are each independently bifunctional cyclic group; R1 is a hydrogen atom or a 1-7C alkyl group; n is 0 or 1] and a chiral compound to cause a structural change by a photoreaction.
