To provide a chopped strand for glass paper, which is rapidly opened to monofilaments which hardly coagulate secondarily after the strand has opened.
The chopped strand for glass paper is characterized in that a surfactant and/or a water soluble polymer and a pyrophosphate adhere to its surface.
