Abstract:
PURPOSE: To securely hold cigarettes and transfer them to a receiving drum at a holding member at a lower end of a supply path and also simplify a structure by providing receiving recesses on a flange-like holding member with its tip directing upward from a horizontal direction and on a receiving member made to protrude from a peripheral face of the receiving drum.
CONSTITUTION: The lowermost cigarette of cigarettes C in a supply path 12 is engaged with and held by a flange 16 of a holding member 15. A receiving drum 20 rotates so that a receiving member 22 on a peripheral face of the drum 20 comes into contact with the cigarette held in the flange 16. In this case, a slope 25 first comes into contact with the lowermost cigarette C, and the cigarette C is pushed up along the slope 25. Then it is disengaged from the flange 16, fitted into a receiving recess 24 on the receiving member 22, and sucked to be held by a negative pressure functioning to a suction hole 23 opened on the receiving recess 24. The receiving drum 20 further rotates, thereby taking out the lowermost cigarette from the flange 16, and a next cigarette is engaged with the flange 16.
