Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the breaker which is high in the strength of a structure around an arc-extinguishing device, is excellent in insulation, and also high in reliability with its cost lowered.
SOLUTION: In the case of the breaker 1 having a plurality of electrodes, which allows contact opening to be made between a movable contact base 7 and a stationary contact base 6 by a contact opening and closing mechanism, an arc-extinguishing chamber is provided, which houses in its inside both the movable contact base 7 and an arc distinction device driving and cooling each arc produced between the respective contacts every time when each contact is opened, while being in a shape in cross section enclosing the arc-extinguishing chamber and the movable contact base. In this case, the arc-extinguishing chamber is made out of pressure resistant insulating member.
