Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a circuit device for operating an electric discharge lamp. SOLUTION: This device comprises input terminals K1, K2 for the connection to a power supply; rectifiers D1-D4 connected to the terminals K1, K2 for rectifying the voltage supplied from the power supply; accumulation means connected to the rectifiers; and DC-AC convertor 111 having a terminal connecting an electric discharge lamp. The device is further provided with means I (R1-R6, T1 , T2 , C1 /R6 , V, VI, VII) detecting a cyclic current pulse having a larger amplitude than a given value W1 and means II (IIA, S1) changing the operation condition of circuit device while being connected to the means I. Accordingly when this circuit device is used together with an improper dimmer, it is possible to prevent the device from being damaged.
