Title:
CIRCULARLY POLARIZED ANTENNA
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH03177101
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE: To make a structure compact by providing a first and a second dipole radiant element, excited by a signal with 90 deg.-shifted phase and the same amplitude to make a radiated signal into circularly polarized wave. CONSTITUTION: When a signal is impressed to an input branch 31 to a 90 deg. hybrid coupler 30, a clockwise circularly polarized wave is formed by a symmetrical power supply with the same amplitude and of rectangular shape. When the other signal is impressed to its input branch 31', a reverse, e.g. counterclockwise circularly polarized wave is obtained. A power supply system of the antenna is constituted so as to generate not only a circularly polarized wave (clockwise or counterclockwise) but a linearly (vertical and/or horizontal) polarized wave (it is especially advantageous to use both the linearly polarized waves at the same time, depending on the case). Consequently, a compact structure is realized, and various radial elements are approached to the utmost.
