To operate a circulation type path for simultaneously realizing upward and downward movements by an automated moving staircase although a conventional escalator in a linear form connects respective floors with two elevators for upward and downward movements.
In the path circulating in an arc or elliptical way from a first floor to a second floor or from the second floor to the first floor of a building, an endless groove-like guide rail 2 is provided and a number of stair units 5 are linked like a chain and operated and a long pinion rod 14 is meshed with two rack teeth long plates 3, 4 so that its posture can be always kept vertical even in an inclined path. In the circulation type automated moving spiral staircase, a level difference of stairs equivalent to an inclination of the guide rail 2 can be formed and connected long in a chain shape by lightly sandwiching with pressing metal tools for connection of adjacent stair units 5 for allowing vertical slide movement and a rack teeth plate 15 provided at a lower part outer circumference of the stair unit 5 is driven by the endless belt 17.
