To provide a claw pole device capable of enhancing reliability at starting and capable of securing stability of operation at rotating in one direction.
The claw pole device is equipped with first and second claw pole plates, each of which has a yoke and a plurality of pole claws. The first and second claw pole plates are provided coaxially with, and opposite to each other so that the pole claws face each other, and a space for receiving a coil is defined. A base line forming a boundary between at least one pole claw and the yoke is a circumferential line passing through the center of the base line, and intersects with the circumferential line of a circle of which the center coincides with a rotary shaft of a rotor. A tangent of the circumferential line in the center of the base line has an angle which is not zero with respect to a straight line connecting both ends of the base line.
