To provide a clay tile forming apparatus capable of improving a forming efficiency and reducing the dimension of the apparatus.

In a clay tile forming apparatus, clay extruded from an extruder 2 is cut in a predetermined size to obtain a rough preform P2, the rough preform P2 thus obtained is pressed by rough forming units 6, 7 to obtain a rough form P3, and the rough form P3 is further pressed by finishing forming units 8, 9 to obtain a finished form P4. This apparatus has one pressing machine 5 in which the rough forming units 6, 7 and the finishing forming units 8, 9 are fixedly provided so that the press forming by the rough forming units 6, 7 and the finishing forming units 8, 9 can be performed simultaneously. The pressing machine 5 is provided with a loader 10 which vertically and laterally moves a rough preform suction pad 13 capable of sucking the rough preform P2 and setting it on the rough forming unit 6, a rough form suction pad 14 capable of sucking the rough form P3 and setting it on the finishing forming unit 8, and a finished form suction pad 15 for sucking and taking out the finished form P4 in synchronism with one another.
