Abstract:
PURPOSE: To effectively clean the circumferential surface of a photosensitive drum over the whole length by varying the cleaning characteristic of a fur brush between the outside part opposed to both end parts on the outside of the printing area of the photosensitive drum and the inside part.
CONSTITUTION: A fur brush 32 has a brush 42 and brushes 43, 44 stuck onto the surface of a cylindrical base 41. The brush 42 is stuck to the inside part Q having a range wider than the printing area, and the brush 43 is stuck to the outside part R on the outer side over the inside part Q. The brush 43 is opposed to a gapping roller making contact with a photosensitive drum in both ends on the outside of the printing area. The cleaning characteristic is changed by the brush 42 in the inside part of the fur brush 32 and the brush 43 in the outside part. For example, the bristles of the brush 43 are set coarse, and the density is increased. Thus, the fixed toner in the gapping roller contact part on the outside of the printing area of the photosensitive drum can be cleaned, and the slippage by the fixed toner can be also eliminated.
