Abstract:

To provide a cleaning device for a carrying member capable, of sufficiently removing toner stuck to the carrying member.

This device is provided with plural image forming means for forming toner images of each color on an image carrier, plural transfer means disposed to face the image forming means respectively, the carrying member traveling between the respective image forming means and the respective transfer means and two cleaning rollers 20a and 20b which are arranged to face the carrying member and to which positive and negative polarity voltages are applied respectively. Reversely charged toner stuck to the carrying member is attracted by the cleaning roller 20b to which the negative polarity voltage V3 is applied, to be removed and negatively charged toner stuck to the carrying member is attracted by the cleaning roller 20a to which the positive polarity voltage V2 is applied, to be removed as well.
