To perform a cleaning operation rapidly by cleaning a printing press through changing over a switching valve after the completion of a printing operation to supply and circulate a cleaning solution from a tank to the body of the printing press.
When a printing operation is completed, a pump 13 for an ink feed means 9 is stopped to suspend the supply of ink G and at the same time, the ink G stores in an ink receiving part 4 is recovered into an ink tank 10 and then an ink supply path 11 and an ink return path 12 are set to communicate with a cleaning solution feed path 3 and a cleaning liquid return path 4 by changing over a switching valve 2 to a cleaning solution tank 1 side. Further, a cleaning solution S stored in a cleaning solution tank 1 is supplied to the body 8 of a printing press passing through the cleaning solution feed path 3, switching valve 2 and the ink supply path 11 by driving a pump 6. In this case, the cleaning solution is thoroughly spread by rotating a doctor roll 15, a mesh roll 16 and a plate cylinder 17 to which the ink G originating from the body 8 of the printing press adheres. Consequently, the adhering ink G drops onto an ink receiving part 14 together with the cleaning solution S.
