Title:
CLEANING DEVICE FOR REMOVING RESIDUAL TONER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3283631
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To accelerate the separation of toner and other residue from the surface of a BTR (bias transfer roll).
CONSTITUTION: This device is the cleaning device 10 for an electro-photographic device for removing residual toner particles and paper fiber from the surface of the rotating bias transfer roll 20 by using an air flow. The device includes a cleaner housing 43 set adjacently to the roll 20 and including a pressure reduction chamber 22 fixedly arranged adjacently to the roll 20 and two soft conductive shims fixedly set on an opposite side to the air entrance of the chamber 22 so that the shims may be extended along the air entrance without contacting each other, an air blower generating the air flow 12 and adjusting the air flow passing through the air entrance, and a power source impressing electric bias voltage on the shims, the BTR 20 and between them.
