Abstract:
To provide a cleaning device that can avoid the occurrence of cleaning failure caused by a foreign substance aggregated at an edge of a cleaning blade, and an image forming apparatus.SOLUTION: A cleaning device comprises: a cleaning blade 101 that cleans an intermediate transfer belt T; an application roller 102 that applies toner to the intermediate transfer belt T; a plate-like member 103 that applies toner to the application roller 102. The plate-like member 103 is arranged such that a non-edge part is in contact with the application roller 102 and a space for storing the toner is formed above the contact part with the application roller 102. An upper end of the plate-like member 103 is lower than a lower end of the cleaning blade 101 and an upper end of the application roller 102. An angle formed by a tangent line passing through the upper end of the plate-like member 103 and contacting an upper part of the application roller 102 and a horizontal line passing through the upper end of the plate-like member 103 is larger than the collapse angle of the toner stored in the space.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
