PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of a flaw caused by wear particle of a metallic strip, etc., after skin pass rolling by providing adjacently an exhaust duct part of a suction speed of ≥8m/sec, and limiting specifically a brush roll which comes into contact with a work roll and/or a backup roll, and rotates.
CONSTITUTION: As for a roll cleaning method of a rolling mill, in order to remove efficiently wear powder, etc., adhering to a work roll 3 and/or a backup roll 2, moderate rigidity and polishability are required for a brush roll 4. As for a material of a brush, a simple substance or mixed spinning of nylon and polypropylene is used, the diameter for exerting an influence on rigidity and polishability is set to 0.15-1.0mm, and also, a size of hair thereof is set to 15-60mm. Moreover, in order to enhance the polishing capacity, abrasive grains of one or more of alumina, titania and silicate are contained as 300-1200# by 5-30 capacity % in the brush. Also, by setting the exhaust/suction flow rate of the brush roll part to ≥8m/sec, the efficiency for eliminating and discharging the wear particle is enhanced.
