Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a high quality image insusceptible to streak or uneven density by providing a cleaning layer on one side of a basic material and a mark part having information concerning to the cleaning layer on the other side thereby removing matters adhered to a thermal head through thermal transfer completely.
SOLUTION: In the cleaning ribbon 5, cleaning layer 1, 1' 1" is applied to one side of a basic material 2 depending on the Mohs hardness or the content of a filter contained in the cleaning layer 1, 1', 1". Furthermore, a mark part 3 having information concerning to the cleaning layer is provided on the other side. The mark part can be selected arbitrarily so long as it can be detected physically and it may be a bar code, a character or a pattern. The mark layer is provided with information concerninq to the type of cleaning layer and the relationship between the contact time with a thermal head and the abrasive properties.
