To provide a cleaning unit having a function of cleaning a wash tub without using a commercially available tub cleaner.
In a "tub cleaning course", a tub cleaning process wherein the wash tub 2 is cleaned with electrolyzed water, a tub rinsing process for rinsing the wash tub 2 after the tub cleaning process and a tub spin dry process for shaking off the water sticking to an inner tub 22, are performed in this sequence. In the tub cleaning process, the electrolyzed water is collected in the wash tub 2 and microorganisms (germs) and black mold sticking to the inside of an outer tub 21 and the inside and outside of the inner tub 22 are eliminated by the disinfecting and stain-decomposing powers that the electrolyzed water has. The electrolyzed water is produced in an electrolytic cell 7 provided at the lower part of the outer peripheral surface of the outer tub 21 and it is passed from the electrolytic cell 7 through an electrolyzed water intake pipe 76, joined to water pumped out of the outer tub 21 and passed through a circulative water path, and discharged into the wash tub 2 from a circulating water diffusing member 64.
