To provide a slick stopping mechanism suitable for the variable magnification knob of a microscope and capable of easily performing the switching of a releasing operation and an activating operation.
In this click stopping mechanism equipped with a click ring 5 rotating interlocking with the variable magnification knob 3 of the microscope, a connecting pin 7 insertible to a click groove 6 formed in the clock ring 5, a flat spring 10 which supports the connecting pin 7 elastically, and a switching means which switches the state of the flat spring 10 in an energized state in which the connecting pin 7 is inserted to the click groove 6 and an open state in which the connecting pin 7 is extracted from the click groove 6, the switching means is constituted in such a way that it is provided with a switching knob 12 operated rotatably, a rotary shaft 16 rotating integrally with the switching knob 12, and a pin 20 provided protrusively in the radial direction of the rotary shaft 16, and the flat spring 10 is arranged so that a part of the flat spring 10 is located at a position where it is energized by the pin 20, and flat spring 10 is set in the energized state when the pin 20 presses a part of the flat spring 10 by the rotary operation of the switching knob 12.
