To provide an easy-to-use clip with proper force for gripping a pocket of clothes and the like.

When a user tries to put a writing instrument 10 in the pocket of his/her clothes, a clip body 22 is wholly bent, and a cloth 12 of the pocket gets into a space between the writing instrument 10 and a roller 26 as indicated by an arrow FA. In this case, the roller 26 is turned in the direction of an arrow FB against a pushing force of the spring 24, and the spring 24 is displaced in the direction of an arrow FC. Thus, the degree of the bending of the clip body 22 is reduced by the action of the spring 24, and the inconvenience of the breakage of the clip is avoided. The cloth 12 is gripped by the roller 26, and the coming-off of the writing instrument 10 is properly prevented.
