PURPOSE: To improve the seal effect of a container by designing the closure assembly in such a manner that a flexible seal member is placed between the lid and opening, the closure assembly is provided with a fulcrum means, and the lid can be moved between closed and open positions around the fulcrum.
CONSTITUTION: A container 20 is provided with a top-opening mouth formed by a circumferential rim 24, and the rim 24 has a flat top face 26 and a lip- shaped projection 28. A closure assembly 30 is provided with a rigid lid 32 and a flexible seal ring 34 fixed to thereto. At the circumference of the seal ring 34, a pair of projecting rock lug 56, and at the large part apart from the small part of the lid 32, a stabilized lug 38 is provided circumferentially. When an outside circumferential part 68 of the lid 32 is pressed between the rock lugs 56, as the width of the far part of the lid 32 is relatively large, the far part of the lid 32 is sufficiently moved upward, and the lid 32 is in the open position. The stabilized lug 38 forms a stabilized support of the lid 32 in cooperation with the rock lug 56.
